Q: Which is more durable: a stainless steel kitchen sink, or a granite kitchen sink?
A:
For the most part, a granite
kitchen sink is considered to be more durable than
a stainless steel kitchen sink. You will find that a granite kitchen
sink does not scratch at all – it is also stain resistant
and heat resistant. A well-made granite kitchen sink can last for
hundreds of years! A stainless steel kitchen sink, on the other
hand, does scratch relatively easily, but you can think of those
scratches as part of its charm. Another benefit of a stainless steel
sink is that it is “softer” than its granite counterpart.
In other words, if you drop a glass in a stainless steel sink, it
is less likely to break than if it were dropped in a granite sink.
The type of kitchen sink that you should buy should depend on your
price range and your kitchen décor, too.
